The browse window has steady entries that go back to 6/18/2010 and stop at 11/05/2012.  I did not see where to delete all this data.  I don't want to delete all that weather data, anyway.

I find if the module is trying to upload to WU while I am doing anything with the WU module it all freezes up...

You don't have any data after 11/05, anyway.

The first thing to try is to shut down WeatherLink, and then find the following files and delete them:  [Feel free to back them up somewhere, of course]
2012-11.wlk, 2012-12.wlk, and 2013-01.wlk. 
Then restart WeatherLink. 

In most cases, WeatherLink will re-create the files and download whatever archived data is still available on the logger.

I did what you said.  A download happened, but back to the way it was before.  Once again, data only goes up to early November.  So apparently the fault is in the logger.

Do you remember what the download message said, or if it took a relatively long time (lots of data) or just a few seconds?

I'm assuming that your WeatherLink settings tell the software to download every (x) minutes.  So, you would have nothing to lose by clearing the archived data (in the logger) to see if that clears up the problem.  One way is to use the setup command to change the console time, and then say "yes" to the ensuing question.

For further diagnostics, you could (temporarily) create a new station (i.e., a new name) and go through the setup, and see if the new station works correctly.  After the test, you can just go back to the previous named station.

If you said what WeatherLink did without the WU stuff, that would help.  Also, what version of WU module.  And captured the details of the error, rather than just the summary display, we might have a clue.  But probably not.

Oh, and what operating system? 

WeatherLink freezes 2-3 minutes after opening.  I removed the http://wiki.wunderground.com/index.php/PWS_-_WeatherLink (WuiWlink_1.dll) and WeatherLink didn't freeze.  I re installed the module and WeatherLink froze within a minute.

If you try that, please let us know the results.

Installed 6.0.3, added WuWlink_1.dll module, activated it, closed Weatherlink, restarted WeatherLink.  WU module didn't activate.  Retried several times with same results.  Notified Wunderground of my experience.

A reasonable conclusion might be that the WU module does not work properly with Windows 8 (and WeatherLink).  Contacting WU would of course be the next thing to try.

Please let us know how it goes.

there is a 6.02 version,but if your present version is fine, stick with it.  I run both and I think the update has bugs .  There is nothing significant with the exception of the ability to send data to their online site for that for a FEE.   if you have the IP logger, the fee is waived.


There are no significant worth the headache update and I would say if it isn't broken, don't fix it.   

Now should the lure of the wild call you, be sure to install the update into the present WLink directory otherwise it won't work right.  See another advantage of not updating... really I wouldn't bother.

It's not like there is a great new graphics user interface, or anything useful like that.  Twisted Evil

Just some stuff under the hood.

There were apparently a few minor "bug" fixes mainly regarding subscription services.

If none of that pertains to you, you don't need to bother.

Go to your WU page and there is a link below your broadcast box, "Add PWS Stickers to your website!"

Pick the sticker you want ( no animated flash movies allowed, the first two won't work here ) and copy the link.
Come back here and select Profile, click "Forum Profile Information" under "modify Profile"

Scroll down to "Signature" and paste the link from WU.

Scroll down some more and click "Change Profile"

That should do it!

If you have a problem with the code appearing properly, post the link from WU in here and we can have a look at it.

I'm still (happily) running the ancient 5.8.3 with my serial VP1+ -- no need for me to update as it's doing all I ask (saving the data, producing graphs and NOAA style reports).  I do run bulletin mode, but other than the FTP updates, it is not posting conditions to external networks like CWOP, WU, AWEKAS, WeatherForYou, AnythingWeather -- my Weather-Display does that, and Cumulus is doing the UK-MET-WOW postings.

I've run an instance of WeatherLink since station startup in Feb, 2004.
